Anne Mitchell - Bio

By Anne Mitchell is co-owner of Genesis Creations, along with her husband Alan.

She has taught fabric designing for over 40 years and silk painting for the past 20 years. She has travelled extensively across Australia to demonstrate and teach these skills.

A former High School Teacher with experience in retailing through her family business history, she became involved in teaching fabric painting through an Australian company then went on to management responsibilities within that company. The love of what she had done for many years combined with her past experience in this field led them to start their own family business with their own unique concepts in July 1999. Anne looks forward to growing old in this business as she really enjoys what she and her students do together.

From experiencing other people’s products over many years Anne worked closely with an Australian paint manufacturing company to have them produce for her a range of paints and colours that are non-toxic and environmentally safe.

Anne dreamt of having a colouring product that could achieve the vibrancy and beauty of traditional silk dyes without the complications of steaming them. the dream was also to create a colour that could be used on any fabric or fibre, from natural fibres to synthetics and across the range of polyester blends for use in ‘dyeing’ fabrics. yes, the dream became reality … talk to Anne about liquid radiance made here in Australia, exclusively for Genesis Creations™.

Kerry Glen - Bio

Kerry specialises in selling and working with batik fabric and unique tools. She has taught in Australia and New Zealand encouraging students to use their own imagination to create unique quilts using quilt tools and rulers. She has a passion for circular and round shapes within her own quilts and enjoys passing on her tips to make them go together easily and accurately.
